Shabby Chic The Gummiapan Way | By Vicky
Hello there, hope you are all well.
I'm here today with my first official post for Swedish House Crafts wooooo hooooooo. I made this card a couple of weeks ago before I went on holiday using lots of products from SHC.
I was going to make a Magnolia card as Suha has sooooooo many gorgeous Magnolia stamps and dies but then I decided to use some Gummiapan products which I'm getting addicted to. Their stamps stamp perfectly every time and their dies cut brilliantly.......I love them......the best bit is the price, great products at a fantastic price!!!
So here's my card, a bit of shabby chic the Gummiapan way ;-)
The papers are Pion Design Easter Collection, I love this whole collection and all the sheets can be used for all year round.......as you can see. Every sheet really is so so pretty.
On my 2nd layer I used the Gummiapan Old Paper die, on some of the little splits I distressed and made them slightly bigger so I could put bits of lace underneath.....this is an excellent way of using up scraps of lace you have lying around.....I never throw anything lol.
I very slightly distressed the whole layer and inked it up with Pumice Stone distress ink, concentrating it more in the little splits/rips.
For the sentiment I used Gummiapan 'Without Change There Would Be No Butterflies'....I lurve this sentiment. I stamped with Versa onto vellum and then added white embossing powder and cut it out using oval dies. I then made a frame using two oval dies to attach it to. The right side of the oval is popped up onto a tiny foam pad to keep it raised.
For the large butterflies I used the Gummiapan Butterfly Morpho large and again using versamark and vellum, I used white and pink embossing powder and then fussy cut them out. Once they are cut out I then gently creased the vellum either side of the body to fold the wings up and glue onto a flat butterfly.
The little butterflies were made using Gummiapan Butterfly Morpho small and Gummiapan Butterfly Monarch small and again I slightly creased them either side of the body to give them dimension as though they are flying.
The rectangle was cut using the Gummiapan Stitched Rectangles, I cut out a piece from Pion Design paper first and then I used two different sized dies and made a frame to go on top. I also added flowers, Magnolia leaves and some twine and lace to finish the shabby chic look to this card.
The bottom layer I distressed slightly and then machine stitched all around.
I hope I have give you some inspiration.
