Vintage Photo File Box With Pion Design Images | By Nancy
Hello, friends! It's Nancy back with a new project for you today!
Do you LOVE all the gorgeous vintage images from Pion Designs as much as I do? I just love to look at them! I decided it was time to come up with a pretty project that would help me to enjoy looking at them more often. So I came up with this little photo file box. Here it is:
I found a simple little unfinished wooden box in my stash but it could easily be made from chipboard or heavy cardstock. Since the photos are tinted with a pretty pink, I painted my box in a soft pink colour. I trimmed the photo down, inked the edges, and matted it with kraft cardstock. Then I adhered it to the front of the box. Here's a closer look:
I chose another photo and repeated the process for the back of the box.
To fill up the sides of the box, I used a decorative punch with some kraft cardstock. I adhered it in place and then added some pretty pink rhinestones.
When everything was in place, I inked all the edges of the box to give it an aged look.
Suha has some fabulous sets of Bronze Box Feet in the shop. They come in a set of four feet, along with one handle, and they come in several sizes. I used the small set and added the four feet to the bottom four corners of the box. Don't they dress the box up beautifully?
I then added the handle to the top of the front of the box. If you are using a chipboard or cardstock box, this handle can be added with brads. Since my box was made of wood, I adhered it in place, and then added pretty pink rhinestones into the brad holes.
You may have noticed that I have something in my box. I cut tags of both kraft and soft pink cardstock. I made them just a little bit taller than my box, and rounded the top corners, so they would extend a bit above the box. I chose more of the beautiful photos with the soft pink tinting, matted them, and adhered them to the tags.
Isn't it a fun way to be able to enjoy these beautiful vintage images? It's so much fun to make too! The back of these pretty tags could be used for some journaling, or adding some of your favourite quotes. You could also add some of your own heritage photos in among the purchased ones!
